It’s always good news whenever Thomas Jane (The Mist, 1922, The Predator) lends his talents to the horror genre, and Screen Daily reports tonight that he’ll next be starring in the “dark thriller” (that means it’s a horror movie) The Orchard, which Bleiberg Entertainment just boarded. They’ll be launching international sales at the Cannes Film Festival.
“Michael Caissie makes his feature directorial debut on the project, which centers on a sheriff who gets called to an orchard where three teenage sisters have been attacked by a band of young delinquents. Arriving on the scene, the lawman soon realizes a malevolent force lurks within the grounds that will drag everyone into a fight for their lives.”
Jay Mohr, India Ennenga, Katrina Bowden, Amanda Wyss and Sean Patrick Flanery also star.
Cheyenne Enterprises’ Arnold Rifkin is producing the film along with Clayton Turnage, Leah Sturgis, Christopher Sherman, Mohr and Caissie. Executive producers are Ehud Bleiberg, Nicholas Donnermeyer, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Josh Chewerda, and Gato Scatena.
