As promised, Blumhouse’s Thriller (read our review) has just released on Netflix.
Dallas Jackson’s film is set in Compton, where a prank-gone-horribly-wrong creates a slasher maniac and the bodies begin to pile up.
“Thriller follows the story of an introverted young man named Chauncey Page who is sent to juvenile hall after he accidentally kills a young woman who is part of a group of tormentors that play a cruel prank on him. Years later he is released and is back for revenge — and blood — as Chauncey (Jason Woods) serves up some murderous karma as the group, now in high school, gets ready for Homecoming. Dressed in a hoodie and a menacing glare, he terrorizes them picks them off one by one.”
Thriller stars actress/model Jessica Allain and the ensemble cast includes Mykelti Williamson (Forrest Gump), Luke Tennie (SYFY’s Deadly Class), Tequan Richmond (Ray), Paige Hurd (Everybody Hates Chris), Chelsea Rendon (Starz’ Vida), Mitchell Edwards (The First Purge), Pepi Sonuga (Famous in Love), Jason Woods (Proven Innocent), Maestro Harrell (The Wire), and Michael Ocampo (Shooter).
Thriller is produced by Greg Gilreath, Adam Hendricks, John Lang and Zac Locke, who executive produced, for DIVIDE/CONQUER, and co-produced by David Grove Churchill Viste. Acclaimed musician RZA composed original music (to be released), executive produced, and acts in the film.
