Tyrese Gibson in Talks for Sony’s ‘Morbius,’ Starring Jared Leto as the Marvel Comics Vampire
Earlier today, star Jared Leto let us know that filming began about a week ago on Sony’s Morbius, while also sharing the first sneak peek of his character. And Variety now reports tonight that Tyrese Gibson is in talks for a role. Character details are unknown at this time.
Jared Harris, Matt Smith and Adria Arjona also star.
Michael Morbius is a scientist who, in trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, accidentally transforms himself into a living vampire. Though disgusted by his own bloodlust, he chooses to prey upon criminals he deems unworthy of life.
Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane and first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #101, the first issue not written by Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee.
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the script.
Morbius arrives on July 31, 2020.
