Since it bears repeating, Fallout 76 has had a rough go since its release. Bethesda knows it, and appears to have addressed it with their newly-unveiled Roadmap for 2019.

Broken into seasons, the first update for this year begins with “Wild Appalachia” (which includes the previously-announced Survival Mode) coming in March on a rolling schedule. High-level Vault raids and a new game mode called “Nuclear Winter” will arrive this summer, and “Wastelanders”, which will include a whole new main quest, comes this Fall.

March 12 will bring brewing and distilling into the game, where you can cook up your own booze and drinks in your camp. March 19th will bring a new time-limited event called Fasnacht Parade that allows you to earn unique rewards in the form of festive masks. Finally, Survival Mode will arrive on March 26th.

Things continue on April 9th with a new series of quests called Shear Terror, and player vending, which allows players to place vending machines at their camps to sell items to other players. April 16 will introduce a camera as an in-game item, and May 7th introduces customizable backpacks and a bunch of new quests in Ever Upwards!, which allows you to earn ranks in the Pioneer Scouts.

“Wild Appalachia” closes out on May 23rd with the Legendary vendor known as the Purveyor, which allows you to swap or scrap your legendary items and acquire new ones.

As we pointed out in our review of Fallout 76, the game has a lot of potential, but as we’ve seen, it also still has a bit of work to do in order to really get itself up to the quality Fallout fans expect.
