‘Green Room’ Star Imogen Poots Joins Nicolas Cage in Crazy Ass Action-Horror Film ‘Prisoners of the Ghostland’
Recently, fresh off of Mandy, Nicolas Cage had stated that Suicide Club director Sion Sono‘s upcoming English-language action-horror film Prisoners of the Ghostland might be the wildest movie he’s made to date (“and that’s saying something,” he made sure to note), so this one is needless to say not just on our radar but at the tippy top of it.
THR reports tonight, in an announcement that makes us even more excited about the film, that Imogen Poots (Green Room) will star alongside Cage!
In the film, “When a notorious criminal, Hero (Cage), is sent to rescue an abducted girl (Poots) who has disappeared into a dark supernatural universe, they must break the evil curse that binds them and escape the mysterious revenants that rule the Ghostland.”
Cage recently described Prisoners of the Ghostland, “It’s out there. I wear a skintight black leather jumpsuit with grenades attached to different body parts, and if I don’t rescue the governor’s daughter from this state line where they’re all ghosts and bring her back they’re gonna blow me up.”
Aaron Hendry and Reza Sixo Safai wrote the film, Sono’s English-language debut.
