The long-awaited Resident Evil 2 remake/reimagining etc is out today, bringing a wave of giddy nostalgia for many a fan of the original as they enter the RPD building once again. It’s a joyous day where we can celebrate gaming’s biggest horror franchise and there are many ways to do that. Like maybe covering some Resident Evil 2 music in a new and interesting way?
That’s exactly what Mono Memory has done with its delightfully moody cover of the RPD Main Hall Theme. To coincide with the release of the remake, Mono Memory created a new synthy version of the classic theme and put it alongside footage from the new game and now Resident Evil 2 has a very John Carpenter-esque flavor to it. Have a listen below.
If you enjoyed it, you can download the cover on Bandcamp for free.
Maybe someone involved with that reported Resident Evil Netflix series could see if Carpenter fancies doing the musical score.
Mono Memory also has also covered music from the original Resi, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, both of which you can find on the same YouTube channel as the above cover.
Resident Evil 2, as you might have heard, is great, and out today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
