The indie mutant-superhero is headed to Hollywood!
Last we heard, Lloyd Kaufman is working on a fifth installment in Troma’s Toxic Avenger franchise, but we’ve learned tonight that Legendary Entertainment has now acquired the feature film rights for a remake of the original film.
We don’t have any additional details at this time, but this is needless to say huge news for the franchise, which to date includes four feature films and an animated series, “Toxic Crusaders.”
In the 1984 original, directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz…
“Tromaville has a monstrous new hero. The Toxic Avenger is born when meek mop boy Melvin falls into a vat of toxic waste. Now evildoers will have a lot to lose.”
Kaufman and Herz will produce alongside Legendary’s Alex Garcia and Jay Ashenfelter.
