Filming is officially underway in South Africa on Screen Gems’ feature film adaptation of Capcom’s Monster Hunter video game.
Moving from zombies to monsters, Paul W.S. Anderson is directing, with Milla Jovovich signed on to star. Jovovich, who reteams with her Resident Evil director and husband, shares the following photos from the first day of principal photography. It looks like she’s already been kicking some monster ass!
Hellboy‘s Ron Perlman also stars with Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak)!
Jovovich is playing a character named Artemis while Jaa is ostensibly the movie’s male lead, a man simply called The Hunter.
The game’s premise involves players taking on characters who track and kill monsters, leveling up with weapons and gear.
