Despite Telltale Collapse, Netflix is Still Planning on Making a “Stranger Things” Game
As we learned over the weekend, Telltale Games has laid off almost all of its staff and is facing complete closure, with upcoming projects (including the final season of “The Walking Dead”) being cancelled amid the chaos. That includes Telltale’s planned video game adaptation of “Stranger Things,“ but Netflix isn’t giving up hope on that particular project.
“We are saddened by news about Telltale Games,” Netflix said in a statement to Polygon. “They developed many great games in the past and left an indelible mark in the industry. Minecraft: Story Mode is still moving forward as planned.”
They added, “We are in the process of evaluating other options for bringing the Stranger Things universe to life in an interactive medium.”
More as we learn it, as this is all developing.
