The one hope with the news of Telltale Games’ mass layoffs and future closure earlier today was that we’d get a fitting sendoff with The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Unfortunately, the end of Clementine’s story has arrived prematurely.
US Gamer has a credible source that confirms the remaining staff at Telltale are working on the Netflix Minecraft Story Mode series, and the team working on The Walking Dead: The Final Season are among those to be let go. As a result, the season will not be completed.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season was days away from only its second episode, which is still releasing as scheduled. Once that episode arrives, there will be no further work on the series. For those of us wanting to see the end of Clementine’s story, this is a sour day.
