[Exclusive] Upcoming RPG Game ‘Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones’ Allows You to Carve Your Own Path Through Lovecraft’s Universe

We’re excited to break the news tonight that 1C Company is preparing to launch brand-new horror RPG game Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, a game of horror, loss and madness set in the strange worlds of HP Lovecraft. The upcoming original game offers a mix of rich RPG and turn-based tactical combat, represented in an illustrative 2D visual style. Players will journey from a doomed Arkham into the depths of the Abyss, creating their own character based on 1920’s archetypes and carving a path through a broken and mysterious world.
“The desperate battle against forces beyond comprehension will haunt players until the end. Physical combat will be challenging, spellcasting will have dire consequences, and sanity will be strained to the breaking point by unknown abominations. Sometimes the best solution will be to flee what lurks beyond the threshold.”
Stygian, developed by Cultic Games, will feature:
- RPG and Turn-based Tactical Combat: A tantalizing mix of gameplay styles keeping strategy at the forefront
- Experience the Horrors of the Old Ones: Enter H.P. Lovecraft’s sinister world and abandon all hope
- Combat and Spellcasting: Both will take their toll on your health and sanity. Remember: dark magic always comes with a price
- Try to Maintain Sanity: See the unseeable as your character struggles to hold on to reality—sometimes a little insanity can be beneficial in a world gone mad
- Hand-drawn 2D Graphics: Journey into an illustrated world reflecting cosmic horror and dread

The game is planned for release in 2019 and an early demo is now available on Steam.
