Remember that Augmented Reality game based on The Walking Dead that AMC and Next Games were whittling away at last year? Well today, it’s been announced that The Walking Dead: Our World, “the horror world’s answer to Pokemon Go” (thanks, John!), will be unleashed to download globally on Thursday, July 12th, 2018. The free-to-play game will be available to download from the App Store and Google Play Store.
The game will allow players to fight walkers on the street while you’re waiting for the bus, in the park while you’re walking your dog, or from the comfort of your couch as you wait for the next season of The Walking Dead. “Boasting the latest AR technology, and powered by Google Maps, The Walking Dead: Our World will not only create a rich and unique experience for fans of the show, but also place the game in their familiar surroundings by using the player’s location as a core element.”
And hey, you won’t need to shell out for an Oculus Rift!
