Now while I haven’t been into MMOs for a while, the idea of doing one in the vein of surviving a zombie apocalypse is intriguing. Well, the folks at Atelier 801 seem to have a similar idea with their upcoming free-to-play MMO, Dead Maze, which launches February 13th on Steam.
Dead Maze emphasizes player cooperation during the aftermath of the zombie apocalypse in the Western United States. In order to survive, players will need to work together to explore what’s left of the world after the events of a zombie outbreak, monitor their health and food, scavenge for resources, and craft as many supplies as possible. You and your fellow players will face the typical zombie hordes, but also hunger, thirst, injuries and diseases.
In addition to the typical MMO things like choosing your character archetype, players will also be able to set up and build their own camp, including building and furnishing your own home. This also extends into things like planting seeds and creating vegetable gardens, or breeding cattle to gain access to extra food sources such as milk.
Upon launch, the game will feature an overarching storyline with 22 major quests, spread across multiple locations. More chapters to be added after the official launch. For more info on the game, head on over to its Steam page.
